Diesel Exhaust Is Linked To Cancer Development Via New Blood Vessel Growth
Posted by Lori in Air Pollution, tags: cancer, car exhaust, dieselA new study released in Science News looks a the link between exposure to diesel exhaust and an increase in new blood vessel formation. Question is, does this have a direct effect on Cancer? While it is intuitively unlikely that diesel fumes are good for you, there are other factors that have to be in place for tumors to form. The study here is an animal study, based or correlation, not causation, and the headline is not quite accurate, but does cause us to ask the question, and to do more research on what polluting our environment does to our long term health.
